Leaked Galaxy Z Flip 8 Looks a Lot Like the Phone It's Replacing
New leaks suggest Samsung's next flip phone is more of a quiet refresh than a redesign, with a new chip and faster charging as the headline changes.

Samsung is set to show off its next generation of foldable phones in just over a week, but thanks to a fresh round of leaks, there's not much left to guess about the Galaxy Z Flip 8. And the big takeaway is that it barely looks different from the phone it's replacing.
Leaked images and specs shared by WinFuture, and spotted by 9to5Google, show a Z Flip 8 that's nearly a dead ringer for last year's Z Flip 7. Same overall shape, same general display setup, same base memory configuration. If you're hoping for a dramatic redesign, this isn't it.
The most notable change under the hood, according to the leak, is the processor. Samsung is reportedly skipping a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip in favor of its own silicon again, moving from the Exynos 2500 in the Z Flip 7 to a new Exynos 2600. That's likely to disappoint anyone hoping Samsung would switch to Qualcomm's chips for this cycle, since Snapdragon processors have often outperformed Exynos alternatives in past comparisons. Beyond the chip swap, the leak points to just one other real hardware upgrade: support for 45W wired charging, an improvement over the Z Flip 7's charging speed.
Everything else looks like a carryover. WinFuture's leak lists the same 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED main display and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover screen found on the Z Flip 7. Storage and memory are also unchanged, with 256GB of base storage and 12GB of RAM.
Where Samsung does appear to be making an effort is color. The leak points to a new pale pink option joining the lineup, alongside "cream" white and "graphite" black finishes.
The design leak lines up with something Samsung itself put out into the world days earlier. The company released a teaser tied to the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film that gave fans a glimpse of its next phones, including a flip phone that looks indistinguishable from the current Z Flip 7 and matches the shape seen in WinFuture's images. Between the official teaser and the leak, there's now a fairly clear picture of what Samsung plans to unveil, even before the company says a word on stage.
A Familiar Playbook
None of this is unusual for Samsung, which tends to iterate on its foldable hardware rather than overhaul it every year. The Z Flip line has settled into a rhythm of modest, incremental updates, and this leak suggests 2025 will be another one of those years: better internals, minor color refresh, same basic design language.
That's not necessarily bad news for buyers. A stable design means Samsung has presumably ironed out durability and hinge issues from earlier generations, and a faster charging speed is a welcome, if small, quality-of-life bump. But it does mean the Z Flip 8 is shaping up to be more of a spec bump than a showcase device, at least based on what's leaked so far.
Samsung is expected to formally introduce the Z Flip 8, along with the rest of its new foldable lineup, at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22nd. That event should also reveal pricing, release timing, and any features that didn't make it into this latest round of leaks. Until then, this is about as clear a preview as leaks typically get, and it suggests Samsung is saving its bigger swings for another year.
