SpaceX Super Intelligence Rolls X Premium, Grok and Cursor Into One Subscription
The combined plan, called simply "The X Subscription," is a bet that bundling beats competing for subscribers one product at a time.

SpaceX Super Intelligence, the company that now houses X, Grok, and the AI coding tool Cursor, is consolidating all three into a single subscription. It's called, with minimal branding flourish, "The X Subscription," and it replaces the patchwork of separate plans users previously had to juggle to get access to each product.
The logic is straightforward: in a paid AI subscription market this crowded, one strong offering might pull in more subscribers than three separate ones ever could. SpaceXSI is competing directly with OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI labs that are all racing to convert free users into paying ones, and a single bundled plan gives the company one pitch instead of three.
Under the new subscription, users get Grok for AI chat, with support for voice, images, video, and API access, plus Grok's agentic AI Bot, which can carry out tasks on a user's behalf rather than just responding to prompts. Cursor, the AI-assisted coding tool, is included for developers. And the plan folds in everything that used to come with X Premium, including the verified blue checkmark, creator tools, and reduced ads on the platform.
Five tiers, one subscription
The X Subscription comes in five flavors: a free tier, Plus at $8 a month, Premium at $30, Super at $100, and Ultra at $200. As you move up the ladder, the cap on AI usage increases. The free tier is the most limited, offering only basic chat and agent usage, and anyone who wants access to Grok's latest models will need to be on Premium or above.
That pricing structure puts the company's most capable AI tools behind a meaningful paywall, while the free tier functions more as a sampler than a full product. It mirrors a pattern other AI companies have used, offering just enough for free to hook users, then reserving the newest models for paying subscribers.
For people already paying for X Premium+, there's a direct incentive to switch: the company says the comparable tier on the new X Subscription costs the same or less than what they're currently paying. That's a notable detail given how often subscription bundling ends up as a backdoor price increase. Here, SpaceXSI appears to be using the consolidation as a reason to hold or lower prices for its existing base rather than raise them.
Current subscribers aren't being forced to switch immediately. They can either upgrade to the new bundle through their account settings on X or stay on their existing plan. The option to upgrade is rolling out gradually rather than all at once, so not every user will see it right away, meaning anyone interested should keep checking their billing settings until the offer appears.
Why the bundle makes sense now
Bundling separate products into one subscription is a familiar playbook, but it carries particular weight in the AI subscription business, where the real competition isn't just for users, it's for which company becomes the default AI layer in someone's daily life. By folding Grok, Cursor, and X Premium together, SpaceXSI is making the case that its ecosystem, spanning chat, coding, and social, is worth paying for as a whole rather than piecemeal.
Whether that argument lands will depend on how the tiers actually perform in practice, particularly those usage caps at the lower price points, and whether developers find enough value in Cursor access bundled with a social media subscription to make the switch worthwhile. For now, the rollout is gradual, and existing subscribers have no deadline forcing their hand. The real test comes once the option reaches everyone and users have to decide whether one subscription really beats three.
