This page explains what Technology Brief collects, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

If you create an account, we store your email address and a scrambled version of your password. If you join the newsletter, we store your email address. If you use the site without doing either, we do not store anything that identifies you.

Why we collect it

Your email address signs you in, lets you reset a password, and sends you the brief if you asked for it. It is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

Who else sees it

Two services handle data on our behalf: the one that runs accounts, and the one that sends email. Both are under contract to process data only for us.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account or leave the newsletter. Deleting your account removes your record. It is not recoverable afterwards.

Your choices

You can turn the newsletter off in your account at any time. You can delete your account from the same page. You can email us to ask for a copy of what we hold.

Cookies

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. There is no advertising or tracking cookie on this site.
