Where it applies

Only in the tools directory. When the outbound button on a tool page is an affiliate link, the word affiliate appears next to it. If there is no label, there is no commission.

If a tool page has no affiliate label, we earn nothing from it. Most of the directory is in that group.

What it does not change

A tool is in the directory because it is worth knowing about. Paying a commission does not get a tool listed, ranked higher, or described more kindly. Descriptions say what the tool does and nothing else.

Why we do it at all

It keeps the guides and skills free and the site free of advertising. If that ever stops being true, this page changes first.
